So Forrest is highly athletic safety who is not very good at playing safety (positioning, reads, tackling)? Is this Troy Apke all over again?
If all goes well, is Forrest at best a 5th or 6th safety (i.e., cut) behind Collins, Curl, Everett, Reaves, and maybe a veteran such as B McCain or T Boston?
I think he has more upside than Apke did, who I was never a fan of from the moment he was picked. But I could see him as an Everett replacement, being a back up safety that is mostly a key special teams player. I’m not sure if they want to replace Everett, but that’s how I see him fitting with the team for the first few years.
I love the underdog Reaves and McCain can also fill-in if Reaves drops off from his surprisingly great play last year. We coached up a great number of suprises last year...Logan Thomas, JD, Reaves, Lucas. What great coaching.
Love the pick. If he doesn’t show enough chops I’d love Jordan Battle or the Florida safety next year.
