Great breakdown, Mark. With all of the terrible team losses the past few weeks, sometimes its hard to find a light in the darkness. Thanks for pointing this out.
There’s a lot of talk about trading pieces at the deadline after the losses to the Giants and Bears. With Young out of contract, it makes sense he’s speculated about but I think he’s one they should really be holding onto.
He had a pretty solid game last time out against Philly, as we can see in some of these clips. Going to be interesting to see how he approaches facing the same blocker for a second game in the season. Does he switch things up more or stick to certain moves? Will the Eagles pay him more attention? Something to keep an eye on.
I think it's really telling that the "Chase Young Gravity" clip has him getting double-teamed, causing havoc, and the other team still gets 20+ yards on 3 of the 4 plays.
Yeah, I noticed that too. When teams are able to focus resources into blocking Young, they're still able to generate big plays. Others need to step up and take advantage of the attention Young is taking.
It really speaks to how the overall defense is so much less than the sum of its parts. How does such a talented (and expensive) D-line result in so little actual defense?

Thanks. A fire only needs a spark. Maybe Young can be that spark going into Sunday.
