Friday Q&A PLUS 3 Mock Draft Scenarios
Leave your questions/thoughts on the mock drafts in the comments section an I'll be checking regularly throughout the day to reply ASAP!
Hey everyone! With the draft now officially less than a week away, I thought it’d be a good time to bring back the Friday Q&A sessions but with an added bonus. If you’re a new subscriber or haven’t seen one of these Q&A sessions before, feel free to join in the conversation by leaving a question or comment in the comments section of this post and I will be checking in throughout the day to respond ASAP! Ask as many questions as you like and they can be on any topic too - obviously the draft is coming up so I’m expecting those, but if you want my thoughts on the ownership situation or how terrible Man Utd played last night, I’m happy to chat about that too.
On top of the Q&A, I thought I’d also offer a few mock drafts I’ve been playing around with. There’s various mock draft simulators out there and I’ve had a go on a few of them this week. Here are three mock draft results I got from those simulators. Tell me which one you’d prefer!
1. OLine heavy mock
In this mock draft I went heavy on the offensive line with the intent to lock down a few key positions for a number of years. I also got very lucky with how the board fell to me.
First round, 16th overall: Paris Johnson Jr. LT, Ohio State.
Johnson is drafted well before 16 in a lot of the mock draft simulators and having watched him, I expect him to be gone too. But it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that he falls and if he does, the Commanders would be huge benefactors. Johnson is a very athletic left tackle prospect with some position flex that matches everything the Commanders have been doing with their offensive line since Eric Bieniemy has come to town. Johnson could plug in at either left guard or right tackle for a year while learning from an experienced and technical savvy vet like Charles Leno, or simply take over from Leno and force him to switch to the right side or be cut and save the Commanders some cap space.
