Breaking down Washington’s defensive issues against the Chargers - Part 1
Taking a closer look at what went wrong for Washington defensively in the loss to the Chargers.
This is the first of two parts breaking down Washington’s defense.I figured the third down defense merited a post of its own given the Chargers converted 14 of 19 third down attempts. So be sure to check that part out here.
The final score of 20-16 somewhat flattered Washington’s defense as it wasn’t necessarily the best reflection of the true performance. Washington gave up a total of 424 yards, but a few timely turnovers in the red zone, along with some stops to force field goals instead of touchdowns kept Washington in the game until late, but the Chargers were able to move the ball effectively all game long.
